[Music] Sminofu – Why Umehlulela

Sminofu delivers a compelling centerpiece with Why Umehlulela, the fourth track on his expansive 17-song project, iTekisi. The song sits confidently within the album’s lineup, offering a distinct voice amid the broader South African soundscape represented throughout the collection.

Released in 2026, iTekisi showcases a project-first approach, emphasizing a cohesive listening experience rather than isolated singles. Within this framework, Why Umehlulela plays a pivotal role, contributing to the narrative flow and thematic consistency that define the album’s structure.

As a South African artist, Sminofu’s placement of this track as number four strategically builds momentum early in the project, encouraging listeners to engage with the full scope of his musical vision across all 17 tracks.
